Tech Class is Flying
It feels like we should just be jumping into our first activity in Tech Pete. Though the class is almost over. I have learned a lot about technology that I wouldn't have before this class or would have even thought of. It is interesting to figure out on my own how things work and what can be done with them. I am not looking forward to doing my e-folio, but then again it will be benefiting me in the long run. The only plus I have to look forward to when this class is over is more study time and ARC workout time. Since I am a commuter I will have such a long lag time before my next class after common hour. This should be interesting to see where my time goes to.

Some Professers are Easier to Talk to than Others
I can remember when I was at Clarion when one of the students in the class was dyslexic. I knew that she was and we had to write out our names for our name tags for the class to see. When the one girl next to me wrote her name it was completely backwards and the professor thought she was joking and made it a point to announce her stupidity in front of the class. I rewrote her name for her and she got extremely red and left the class. Afterwards I talked to the professor, It was shocking that he acted in such a manner since it was a Special Education class we were in. From talking to him it was clear that he had no idea and was very upset with the way he acted. Since then I think he has been more open to the issues of his students instead of putting a judgement before an explanation first. The reason I am writing about this is because I think that every student feels that some teachers are easier to talk to than others. Students shouldn't have to feel inferior to their professors. I have had several professors I have been able to talk to and felt very comfortable doing so, but I recently came across a health issue and found it extremely hard to talk to one of my professors about it. When I came to the professor I asked to talk in her office and I felt like I was asking too much, I didn't want to be in the open in front of the entire class when I discussed my issue and I didn't want to make it more of an issue than it was either. The teacher was upset because of something not even on the subject of my health issue and I think that is where the miscommunication was. I know when I go to work everyday I make sure whatever issues I have with my own life, I leave at home and don't let those issues interfer with work. If I do let them interfer then the people I am working with aren't getting my full attention if I do bring those issues in the work place. I guess the bottom line is, some professors are just easier to talk to than others.

Meetings for the Major
Since I am a commuter I feel like I am out of the loop. I continue to hear about the meetings for PETE, Fit Club, and the honorary faternity but I still don't know if these things are a necessity to be involved in. I would like to but it seems like whenever there is a meeting I already have prior engagements. What do these types of clubs do? Are they beneficial and are ALL Physical Education majors mandated to be in them?

Frustration at the Book Store
I recently was trying to purchase a Microsoft CD for my PETE class at the Book Store and wasn't able to. I went to the checkout counter and my student identification card using Rock Dollars did not work and the clerk tried twice. The clerk asked me if I had money on it and I told him I did. I called the number on the back of my student I.D. and the woman said that they were having difficulty with all of the swipe terminals. I told the clerk at the Book store and he said he never heard of such a thing. The woman that worked in the student i.d. department told me to try again in an hour. I then asked the clerk if he was able to take the cd back and tell the man at the customer service desk that I didn't purchase one because I was unable to, but that I would be coming to try again during common hour. It was necessary I told him this because each student is only permitted one cd. The man in customer service wrote down my identification number and checked me off as already getting one. Hopefully when I go get a cd at common hour I am able to and hopefully the clerk did is job well and passed the message along.
